I think they liked it. The editors gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

You thought Version 6.0 was impressive? Wait till you see 7.0. The latest incarnation of MSN Messenger, Microsoft’s answer to AOL’s AIM client, delivers improved audio and video conferencing, tighter integration with other parts of MSN, and all sorts of new icons, avatars, and animations. The number of tools on offer is quite remarkable, and though some will prefer a simpler instant-messaging client, others—particularly MSN regulars—will surely enjoy the wealth of new additions.

Latest beta looks great, my only real grumble is the sofware\’s reluctance to shut down if I ask it to…
Okay, u twisted my arm ;) Nah, i felt bad….i can\’t resist the nice MSN gods.
I don\’t know if anyone can help me but all I see on my messenger contact list is keyboard shortcuts and not emoticons, i checked that the boxes show emticons/show custom emoticons were checked, they were. My own name has emoticons showing just not my contacts, does anyone know what is wrong. I have latest version of MSN messenger. I trawled the net but can\’t make the emoticons show ;-(Thankyou in advance!~~~Ali~~~
Hi people. I\’m not sure if you guys and gals are covering Messenger 5.0 for Mac here – or you\’re sticking to your PC versions, but I sometimes post info on MSN Messenger myself; like today – http://spaces.msn.com/members/mattcox/Blog/cns!1p3JlWfu44y1-HXRbFLIf1tA!359.entryCheers,
I agree, I think there are some cool new feature in Messenger 7.0.
I\’m not surprised that they gave it the Thumbs up – it\’s an excellent piece of software – by far the best that MSN have ever released. Lots of additional functionality (my personal fav being the personalised status, I\’d been requesting that for a long time!) and better connectivity between Messenger and the other MSN offerings.
